The 56-year-old Curry let her more than 1.3 million followers know of tonight’s assignment via her Twitter feed earlier today with the following message: “How's this for whiplash: back from off the grid in the Arctic, now heading in to anchor Nightly tonight for @Brianwilliams.” Curry anchored “Nightly News” for Williams on May 24, at which time she revealed a shorter hairdo, which reportedly did not please the network execs. Since her “Today” show demotion nearly a year ago, Curry has appeared sporadically on the network, including a less-than-friendly Olympics segment with her former co-host Matt Lauer and war zone report for the morning show.
